Pay tribute to your Grandparents While we readily take to Mother's Day and Father's Day, Grandparents' Day is often overlooked. Yet our grandparents deserve a dedicated day of celebration too, for providing for the family in many ways - as caregivers, mentors, homemakers and breadwinners. This year's Grandparents' Day falls on 25 November, so grandchildren, celebrate this occasion and show your love for your grandparents! |

Take that Gentle Walk
What better way to celebrate Grandparents' Day than by having the entire family take part in a scenic walk along Singapore River, the very pulse and heartbeat of Singapore in its early days. Leave your handprints as a family unit on a specially created mural, enjoy a concert by the river, and wind up the afternoon with a free visit to ACM. Participation is free.

My Grandparents and I Art Competition
Endorsing the fact that values are inculcated from young, Council for Third Age organised a nation-wide art competition in September among primary school children to encourage them to reflect on their relationship with their grandparents and the roles played by grandparents in their lives. A total of 670 pieces of artwork submitted by 20 schools was received by C3A.
The best six pieces of artwork were selected and transformed into Grandparents' Day Postcards, which were made available to participating primary schools, selected libraries and museums for the public. Winners of the Art Competition were invited to a prize-giving ceremony, held on Grandparents' Day, 25 November 2007. The Postcards are also prominently featured in C3A's 2008 calendar.
